Evidence-based therapy for mental health concerns beyond trauma

Not every mental health concern is rooted in trauma. We offer structured, evidence-based individual therapy for anxiety, depression, OCD, and more, even when trauma is not part of the picture.

Our Approach

Effective therapy without a trauma history

We specialize in trauma, but many of our clients come to us for anxiety, depression, OCD, and other conditions that are not primarily driven by past trauma. The same evidence-based therapies work well for these presentations.

You do not need a trauma history

Our clinic works with the full range of mental health concerns. If your difficulties are primarily mood-based, anxiety-related, behavioural, or situational, you are still a good fit. A thorough intake helps us understand your specific presentation and what is driving it.

Evidence-based from the start

CBT, DBT, ACT, and EFT are among the most rigorously researched therapies available. Whether or not trauma is involved, treatment is grounded in approaches with strong evidence behind them, personalized to your specific goals and history.

Focused on what is maintaining the problem

Good therapy goes beyond symptom management. We identify the patterns, habits of thought, and emotional or behavioural cycles that are keeping you stuck, and target those directly so that change is durable rather than temporary.

Treatment

Matched to your presentation

Treatment is selected based on what is driving your difficulties, not just your diagnosis. CBT is often the starting point for anxiety and depression. DBT is particularly effective when emotional dysregulation is central. ACT works well for clients who feel stuck despite insight. EFT addresses relational and emotional patterns at a deeper level.

Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to identify the most effective approach for your specific goals, and will adapt as treatment progresses.

If it becomes clear during the course of treatment that past experiences are playing a more significant role than initially apparent, your therapist can integrate trauma-informed approaches as needed.

Is This Right for You

You do not need to have experienced trauma to benefit from therapy

Many people hesitate to seek therapy at a trauma-focused clinic because they do not consider their experiences to be severe enough, or because trauma is not part of their history at all. This is a good fit regardless.

Starting therapy is simple and supportive.
