Our Approach

What makes our couples therapy different

Most relationship difficulties are not primarily communication problems. They are emotional and relational problems that need to be understood before they can be changed.

We assess both partners individually

Every couples intake includes both joint and individual sessions. Understanding each partner's own history, patterns, and needs is what makes it possible to build a plan that actually fits the relationship.

We match you to the right program

We offer six distinct couples therapy approaches because different relationship problems need different treatment. Our intake process identifies which program, or which combination, gives you the best chance of lasting change.

We treat roots, not just symptoms

Most couples seek therapy for communication problems. But when conflict, disconnection, or trauma are driving the relationship, communication tools alone rarely hold. We work at the level of what is actually maintaining the difficulty.

Our Programs

Six specialized couples therapy programs

Each program is designed for a different kind of relationship difficulty. If you are unsure which fits your situation, the intake process will work that out with you.

Getting Started

How we match you to the right program

You do not need to know which program is right before reaching out. That is what the intake process is for.

1

Free intro call

A brief conversation with our intake coordinator to understand what you are looking for and whether we are a good fit. No assessment, no pressure. Just a starting point.

2

Joint and individual intake sessions

We meet with both partners together and individually. This gives us a clear picture of the relationship history, each partner's background, and what is maintaining the difficulties.

3

Formulation and program match

Your therapist shares a clear formulation of what they found and recommends the program best suited to your situation. You decide together how to proceed.

Is This Right for You

When to consider couples therapy

Couples therapy is most effective when both partners are willing to engage honestly with what is happening in the relationship. It does not require both partners to be equally ready or equally certain , just willing to show up and try.

The earlier couples seek support, the more options are available. But many couples who come to us have been stuck for years and still make meaningful, lasting change. The intake process will give you a clear sense of what is realistic for your situation.

Couples often come to us when they:

  • Keep having the same argument without it ever fully resolving
  • Feel emotionally distant despite still caring about each other
  • Notice that one or both partners shut down, flood, or withdraw during conflict
  • Have been through a betrayal, infidelity, or major relational rupture
  • Carry trauma histories that shape how they respond to each other under stress
  • Have tried couples therapy before without lasting results
  • Want to understand the patterns before they become impossible to change
