Melissa, MSW, RSW is a bilingual (Spanish/English) therapist, with 9 years of experience in mental health and addictions.  Her clinical focus has been on supporting youth, adults, and couples affected by complex and acute trauma, resulting in Depression, Anxiety, relational issues, addictions, and Complex/PTSD. She has proven experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, childhood trauma, migrational trauma, traumatic grief, and first responders who have been exposed to both acute and chronic traumatic events in their line of work. 

She believes in evidence-based models that can and should be adapted to fit the individual and cultural needs of individuals or couples. As such she utilizes Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  

Melissa obtained her Master of Social Work degree from The University of Western Ontario and is presently a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She also holds advanced certifications in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Complex PTSD from the Centre for MindBody Health, as well as in Trauma-Centred Psychotherapy Techniques from Wilfrid Laurier University.

  2. 15-Minute Intake Call
    Speak with our intake coordinator to ensure the best match with a therapist or take a look at our therapist options online and select one you believe might be a fit (you can also schedule a free 15-min consultation call with the therapist directly).

  3. Schedule Your First Session
    The first session is designed to gather information so we can come up with a personalized treatment plan based on your needs.
