We take pride in our trauma-informed intake & assessment process, which helps us match you with the best-suited therapist and treatment for your needs. Every plan is tailored to your unique story, your cultural background, and your goals, so you can build the skills, resilience, and understanding necessary to move forward.
Our Logo
The olive tree represents peace, resilience, and growth, with deep roots for stability and branches reaching toward hope. The kintsugi line, inspired by the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, reminds us that strength and beauty can emerge from life’s hardest experiences. Together, they reflect our belief that even after trauma, recovery, growth, and meaningful connection are possible.
Founder & Clinical Director
Dr. Arela Agako, Clinical Psychologist, founded Trauma Care Psychology to create a space where individuals and couples can feel seen, understood, and supported. Growing up between Albania and Canada, Arela understands first-hand how our personal history, migration, culture, identity and painful events shape our emotions and mental health.
Throughout her career, she has worked with clients navigating complex PTSD, personality disorders, painful behaviours, complex mental health concerns, intense emotions, high sensitivity, and relational challenges — many of whom feel hopeless about change. Trauma Care Psychology blends evidence-based methods with compassionate, culturally-attuned & inclusive care, providing personalized support for those who feel stuck or misunderstood.
Arela personally oversees all clinic operations, trains associates, and provides ongoing supervision and consultation to ensure every client receives consistent, high-quality, and thoughtful care.
Arela’s vision is to help clients move through emotional pain, better understand themselves and their patterns with compassion, and build meaningful lives within a safe, validating therapeutic space where change feels possible and therapy feels impactful.
